Barbie Can Be Anybody! Our "Barbie Like Me" Service

Representation makes a difference in the way children and even adults view themselves. Barbie has done an excellent job of providing representation for all sorts of people around the world. Since the wild spike in Barbie themed parties after last year's Barbie movie, we have seen more and more requests for not just Barbie, but for Barbies that represent a plethora of children. We're able to do this because since out inception, we have prioritized having a diverse staff and creating opportunities for each and every one of them. We are also able to do this because of our partnerships with community organizations HDSID JC and The Town of Kearny. Their support in our vision allows us to host events with familiar characters such as Barbie, Elsa, or Belle played by actors of different races and ethnicities. When parents and children see these events, it sparks the idea that those characters can represent them too and they make requests for "Character Like Me".
